Since 2000, KBR has designed the offshore facilities for all phases of the ACG field development, consisting of four offshore facilities for the Azeri field, a two platform bridge linked complex for the Gunashli field, and a single platform for the Chirag Oil Field linked to the existing DWG-PCWU platform via inter-field pipelines.

The development includes major upgrades and expansion to the Sangachal oil and gas processing terminal, through the Sangachal Terminal Expansion Program (STEP), increasing throughput and storage capacity.

During June 2016 KBR completed 18 million man-hours on the programme of Caspian Projects (ACG and Shah Deniz) since the original contract was signed in June 1997 between Brown & Root and Amoco.  In addition, July 2015 saw the total KBR billings for the ACG and Shah Deniz Projects passing the $2 billion mark.

We have a long standing working relationship with SOCAR in Azerbaijan.  In March 2015, SOCAR and KBR announced an agreement to establish a new engineering and support services company in Azerbaijan.  The legal entity name of the new company is SOCAR-KBR LLC.  The company provides design, engineering, technical, procurement, construction supervision and project management services for projects across the upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas sectors, in the Azerbaijan – Georgia – Turkey (AGT) region.

It is a company incorporated and existing under the laws of Azerbaijan.  Its Charter permits the company to carry out PMC and EPCm services related to upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas sectors.
