Speed Networking

How it works: In the exhibition room where you will see a series of cocktail tables with red and green envelopes. Stand behind either a green or a red envelope, when the bell rings, you have 3 minutes to network with peers at your table. After 3 minutes the bell will ring - gather your new business cards in your envelope and those with Green Envelopes move clockwise direction to the next table Those with Red Envelopes stay where they are Begin again until those with Green envelopes get back to the table where they started!

HFFR

New Protocol To Improve Precision And Reliability When Evaluating Lubricity Improver Additives By HFRR

  • Highlighting the typical repeatability and reproducibility limits for the HFRR test method and how this inherent imprecision can be an important factor to consider when evaluating additives to improve diesel fuel lubricity.
  • Ensuring a regimented test protocol is followed to maximise the precision of HFRR testing.
  • Examples are shown of differences in HFRR performance that can be observed, while not following a strict test protocol, leading to potentially erroneous conclusions regarding an individual additive's efficacy. These data are then compared with additive performance evaluated under the recommended test protocol, designed to maximise the precision, and give a more accurate assessment of each additive's performance

SAFETY

Effectively Managing Process Safety

While the importance of process safety is fully understood by most companies, many continue to struggle with the development and implementation of an effective process safety management system. Indeed, despite the widespread adoption of behavioural safety and significant investment in management systems and new technologies, process safety incidents continue to occur on a regular basis. In this presentation, DuPont will speak to the elements required to effectively manage process safety. Practical examples drawn from DuPont’s own internal experience and that with clients in Turkey will be highlighted as well.

Salik Tauqir, Technology Engineer, ZymeFlow Decon
2) Roundtable 2: Operational Excellence

Downstream companies are facing many challenges – volatility of the oil price, resource constraints, high shareholder/stakeholder expectations, technology evolving faster than capabilities, etc. The solution, in part, for each of these challenges lies in the adoption of a more versatile operating model, one that can be achieved by implementing aspects of Operational Excellence. And yet, despite all of the potential for Operational Excellence to help companies become more agile and profitable, few are able to execute an Operational Excellence programme effectively. This panel will discuss the strategic value of operational excellence, and how leaders can shape their organizations to deliver continuous and consistent return on investment of operational improvements.

Site Visit To The STAR Refinery & Petkim Plant

About

The project is the construction and operation of a greenfield complex crude oil refinery in Izmir region of Turkey with capacity to process 214,000 barrels of crude oil per day and has an estimated project cost of $5.3 billion. The refinery will be constructed over four years, and once operational it will produce significant amounts of ultra-low-sulphur diesel (45% of production) and jet fuel (15%) to substitute the imports of these products into Turkey. Crude oil will be supplied by SOCAR based on a long-term supply contract. Most of the products will be sold domestically to retailers, 15-20% of products will be sold to PETKIM (Turkey’s sole petrochemicals producer) on long-term contract basis.
